Foreign Minister Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa of Indonesia

On Aug. 29, 2013, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa of Indonesia, who came to China to attend the Special China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

Wang Yi said, China-Indonesia relationship now enjoys all-dimensional development and increasingly shows its strategic nature on bilateral, regional and international levels. Both sides should keep close coordination, strengthen high-level exchanges, push forward bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, mining, aerospace, maritime affairs and culture, vigorously deepen bilateral strategic cooperation.

Marty said that Indonesia-China relationship is crucially important to peace, development and stability of the region. The Indonesian side is willing to deepen strategic cooperation with China in the bilateral and multilateral fields.

Wang Yi expressed that, China and ASEAN are a big family. Both sides should take the opportunity of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of strategic cooperative partnership to increase mutual trust and to deepen cooperation.

Marty extended the congratulations from the Indonesian side on the success of the Special ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers' Meeting. He expressed that the Meeting will play a positive role in enhancing intimacy between the two sides and in promoting cooperation and joining efforts to meet challenges.
